  14. Having just bought a Mitsumi FX-400 quad speed CDROM, the problems are:-
  15.  
  16. 1) Length - The power cable interferes with the power cable on your HD,
  17. unless you can move your HD into the top or bottom (depends, mine had to
  18. move up, someone with a Funai 6x said it had to move down) it might make
  19. the CD stick out about 1cm from the case.  If you have two HD's this is
  20. more or less certain unless you get a shorter CDROM. The Toshiba SCSI
  21. 1542 (?) are shorter and can fit, but are not IDE (obviously!).

  23. 2) IDE cable - The standard CBM cable in an A4000 has, usefully, the two
  24. IDE connectors about 2 inches apart, thanks guys, helpful that.  Just get
  25. a new cable, I did and it worked fine.

  27. 3) thats it so far, I'll try it with Shapeshifter soon.

  29. 4) Apart from I can't get it to run in double speed for things that require
  30. it, for instance a SCSI animation of Worms on the CU Amiga CD runs twice as
  31. fast as it is supposed to.  Anyone?
